The Insiders deliver the premier Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute experience, faithfully recreating the sound, spirit, and soul of one of America’s most beloved rock icons. Featuring six veteran musicians with decades of combined touring and stage experience, The Insiders are truly running down the dream.

About the Band

At the heart of The Insiders is frontman Max Lockwood, whose lifelong connection to Tom Petty’s music brings authenticity and passion to every performance. From childhood memories of listening to Greatest Hits to commanding stages across the Midwest, Lockwood’s vocals and presence have drawn constant comparisons to Petty himself.

Following Tom Petty’s passing in 2017, Lockwood assembled a group of trusted musicians for a one-night benefit concert. The show sold out, raised thousands for a local domestic violence shelter, and sparked something bigger. The audience response was undeniable—and The Insiders wouldn’t back down.

Since then, the band has sold out venues wherever they go, earning praise from fans and critics alike. Local Spins’ John Sinkevics put it best:
